The top is solid Sitka Spruce from the North West of the USA and solid Sapele back and sides which is super close in tone to Mahogany

This 2014 Taylor 818e not only has a beautiful tone but is wonderfully appointed with gorgeous maple binding and rosewood pick-guard along with lovely abalone fretboard inlay and rosette

and blasts a new tonal template into the stratosphere as a result
