They are oh so prim and proper that no smile will crease their lips. The female figure's hat, with its up swept duck tail is right in step with conservative fashions of 1890. I think they are a Scandinavian couple. The female figure reminds me of my Norwegian grandmother who never ever smiled, at least when I was around. These are great folk art sculptures. H. 8" & 9" c.
