They are monogrammed with the letter "R. English, sterling as denoted by the Lion Passant for . 925 silver, assay town of Sheffield, date mark for 1886, and maker's mark for James Dixon and Sons. The lids are marked for Birmingham 1886 and Henry Matthews. The lids fit well and are appropriate for the style; however the do carry a different maker's mark from the body.
