Quarrying here from around 1905 until 2002 cut more than 100 m through a Jurassic volcanic neck

filing long abandoned

where faded signage still marks the back dock and weeds have split the concrete underfoot

A steel slab taken mid-cut

and a green-trimmed doorframe and exit sign remain against the emptied shell

Powder Room Window moss Quarrying here from around 1905Fading light falls through a grimy window in the powder room of the former Peters Creameries Pty Ltd factory at Chatham, Taree. Peeling paint and cracked tiles mark the room's slow retreat. The factory opened in 1939 and ran as a steam driven dairy plant until the late 1990s, when corporate rationalisation shifted production elsewhere. Part of the Peters' Ice Cream Factory series.
