Steel Tapping Colour:Black introduced in 1972 using 200/250A tap hole opens on one of Port Kembla Steelworks' basic oxygen steelmaking vessels, and molten steel pours in a cascade of sparks that lights up the converter shop from floor to roof. Basic oxygen steelmaking arrived at Port Kembla in 1972, replacing the open hearth furnaces that had run since 1931. Part of the BlueScope Port Kembla series.
