TnI is the inhibitory subunit blocking actin myosin interactions and thereby mediating striated muscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes: TnI skeletal fast twitch, TnI skeletal slow twitch, and TnI cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI cardiac protein and is exclusively
