Elämänkaari Contemporary Printing ink on newspaperThe artwork "Elmkaari" is part of a series in which I explore ancient animal icons and rock paintings found in the Finnish region. I have played with the idea of what these icons may have represented to the people who created them and what kind of relationship they had with nature at the time.
