The rare pattern was introduced by the company in 1930s. Mappin & Webb was a well known silver manufacturer in England founded in 1810 by Joseph Mappin of Sheffield. In 1863, after passing through several generations, the firm changed its name to Mappin & Webb. The forks are much longer and heavier than most dinner forks, measuring 8 inches long and weighing 2. 4 ounces each.
